EYCTC AGM Notice 4th May 2024
EYCTC AGM Notice 4th May 2024
Hi all.
We will hold our Annual General Meeting on
Saturday 4th May in the
Room Upstairs of the
Rose & Crown pub, North Bar Without in Beverley.
12.30 for a buffet lunch with business meeting to follow.
I do hope you will come along and join us!
This is where we held the successful Christmas lunch for the last couple of years.
I will send out a formal agenda, but attached are the minutes from last year's AGM.
We will report on the last year's activities and look at what we want to do in the coming year and beyond.
In particular we will want to celebrate our centenary (2025 I believe, but Im sure I'll be put right if that's not it!).
One idea for a medium to long term project is to lobby for the upgrading of the path along the Market Weighton canal to a bridleway and cycle track. This would provide a great link between the Trans Pennine Trail and Market Weighton, giving access to the Hudson Way and NCN66 as well. Also providing a safe and quiet route into Holme on Spalding Moor.
I heard today from ERYC that the Ramblers submitted a Schedule 14 Application in 2023 to do just that.
Sustrans is favourably disposed, and we have made tentative application to use some of the highways improvement budget from government to ERYC, but that is very early days, and in competition with lots of other projects.
Hope to see you on the 4th May if not before!

Secretary, EYCTC
Image is the group (shivering!) in Field House Cafe on Easter Sunday. Its located between Tibthorp and Huggate. Well worth a detour, especially in warmer weather!
