About us

Welcome to the forgotten corner of England! Blessed with a great network of quiet roads (though some need care due to potholes) it's a great place to go riding. A number of the National Cycle Networks go through our area, notably the Trans Pennine Trail, the way of the Roses (a coast to coast route) and the Wolds cycle route NCN1. We also have a many notable cafe stops! There are a number of off-road trails on disused railway lines worth exploring, and Hull has a good network of cycle-friendly routes around the city.

We advertise our rides on our own website at: https://eastyorkshirectc.org.uk/sunday-ride-calendar/ for Sunday rides and:

https://eastyorkshirectc.org.uk/sunday-ride-calendar-2/ for Thursday rides. Individual members also arrange informal rides on other days depending on availability and the weather using a WhatsApp group for communications. We are building our stock of rides as GPX and descriptions which are available at: https://eastyorkshirectc.org.uk/gpx-files/

Anyone who would like to cycle with East Yorkshire CTC should contact us through the link at the top of this page. Include a text number if you want to be added to the WhatsApp group.

Information about the group rides

We are fortunate in having an excellent range of unclassified and smaller roads in our area and rarely need to use busy routes.

Our Club was 90 years old a coupe of years ago, and in 2017 our oldest active rider, Ray himself turned 90 and bought a new fancy road bike.

No-one is left behind and through this year we have managed to get out either in small groups of up to 6 when allowed or as household/bubbled groups.

Our rides are typically on Sundays and Thursdays, but many of the retired members go out on other days as well. We regularly ride between 30 and 50 miles and occasionally further.

If you would like to ride with us we hope you will find a warm welcome. Contact the Secretary (Dave Berger) with the link above.
