Picnic ride

Description

One of the easiest and most pleasant rides possible - lots of green, lots of flowers and lovely views : )

We are going:

along the Five Weirs to Meadowhall (NCN route 6);

then on to Butterthwaite (NCN route 67);

and on again on the Chapeltown Greenway.

The total route is 25 miles (there and back).
This is our picnic ride so please bring one with you! plus plenty of drinks. There will be a flapjack stop of course as well.
There is lots of flowering grass and elder etc along the route and the pollen count high so please come prepared if necessary.
We will stop at Meadowhall in both directions, where there are toilets etc.

We'll LEAVE Barker's Pool at 9.30am. We'll return to Barker's Pool by 3.30pm ish.

PLEASE remember:

to ensure your bike is in good working condition - brakes adjusted, tyres pumped up etc;

to bring a spare inner tube that fits your tyres;

to wear suitable clothes with layers;

to use/bring sun protection including sunglasses if necessary;

to take/bring hay fever treatment if necessary;

to bring drinks and picnic - there will be flapjack;

to arrive well in time as we are going to manage the ride differently and need to explain this beforehand;

Let me know if you plan to come along or if you'd like to join part-way round.
