Calling all cyclists: Join us for #7DaysofCycling

Celebrate Bike Week by pledging to enjoy a cycling activity seven times in seven days to celebrate all that is great about cycling. You'll even get a chance to win prizes!

Bike Week is the UK’s annual awareness raising event that promotes everything that’s great about cycling. Delivered by Cycling UK, in partnership in Scotland with Cycling Scotland, it encourages over half a million people to join in events, rethink their everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.

The #7DaysofCycling campaign is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy a cycle ride seven times during Bike Week 2019. There are no rules on what counts as one of your seven – from riding to work, to popping to the shops to a pootle in the park with friends. All you have to do is pledge to ride seven times – and shout about it on social media!

Why get involved?

Because cycling is fun! Be a part of the UK’s biggest week of cycling by sharing your journey, encouraging others and being a part of the community. You might find others who are like-minded in your area, be inspired to take on a new challenge, or simply save time and money by changing your commute!

If that’s not enough, you could win one of a host of exciting prizes. By pledging to ride 7 times in 7 days, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win vouchers, holidays and tickets from our partners.

We’ve even more chances to win with our Bike Week partners Love to Ride, who are offering a holiday or £750 voucher for taking part in their Bike Week challenge, as well as other daily prizes. Cyclescheme, partner for Day 4 – Cycle to Work Day are offering the chance for commuters to win one of two Trek bikes if you log a ride to work on that day.

Make a difference

Cycling has huge benefits to society, as well as individuals – it’s good for physical health, mental health, the environment and much more. Whether you swap the car for the bike for just small journeys or go on a longer ride – every ride counts. Bike Week is all about encouraging people to give cycling a go, in the hope that it will encourage long-term behaviour change.

If you’re a regular cyclist, encourage others to join in. Sharing photos as part of our #7DaysofCycling may inspire someone to try it. Grab a friend (or two) and get them out on a bike to show them all the great reasons to cycle.

7 Days of Cycling

If you need some inspiration to get cycling, or perhaps you want to make your pledge more challenging, we’ll be promoting seven different themes for the seven days throughout Bike Week.

Each day, we’ll be encouraging people to get involved – join the conversation, share your stories and of course, get out and ride.

If you think you can take on the extra challenge, can you make your seven rides fit the seven cycling experiences?

  • Sunday 9 June: Enjoying the social side of cycling
  • Monday 10 June: Cycling to school and engaging children in cycling
  • Tuesday 11 June: Benefits a bike can have on mental health
  • Wednesday 12 June: Businesses boosting their cycle-friendliness
  • Thursday 13 June: Getting fit and healthy through cycling
  • Friday 14 June: Traveling from A-B by bike
  • Saturday 15 June: Favourite three-miles - best short routes by bike

Share your #7DaysofCycling journey with us, and everyone else taking part in Bike Week 2019, by posting your photos, videos and rides on social media. Use #7DaysofCycling and #BikeWeekUK to join the conversation.
