Horwich Ride Social are a Cycling UK affiliated group. We are a voluntary group that provides social rides for both ladies only and mixed groups covering all ride disciplines, ie mtb, road, and hybrid. We cover the village of Horwich and all surrounding districts of Bolton, Chorley, and as far as West Lancs, Eccleston. 

All our rides are split into three categories, easygoing, steady and challenging. This depends on the mileage and gradient of the route.

Throughout the year, there are various ride series. For example, we run our Sofa to Saddle series. This is over a six-week period and is aimed at ladies who haven't cycled in a long while and have dusted off their bikes and wish to regain their confidence. This will see the ladies cycling up to 10 miles. Bikes- hybrid/hard tail, mtb.

We also have the Saddle to Sportive series. Again, this is over a six-week period and is for those ladies who have signed up to a sportive and wish to get out and train with other like-minded ladies. These rides start at 10 miles up to 50 miles by the end of the series. 

Dirty Divas - this is for those ladies who want to try out the ride discipline MTB. We start off tackling the trails around Horwich and then extend on this. Again over six sessions.   

Our mixed rides are mainly on Sundays and at present are either road or MTB. This will be extended upon throughout the year as a gents-only hybrid series is being planned.

We also have family rides planned from our hub in Blackrod. These will be on a small scale as we are limited at present with the numbers. Children can only participate with their parent/carer who hold all responsibility for the child/children.
