To All Club Members from your Saturday Rides Co-ordinator
Hello fellow cyclists.
It's Spring and the Worcester and Malvern CTC group of Cycling UK are really keen to get their previously successful Saturday rides up and running again. The first ride, led by myself will be on 23rd April, meeting at St Peters Garden Centre, for a 10.00am depart and going to a cafe in Tewksbury, returning via Upton upon Severn. John Bennett has kindly offered to lead the next ride on 30th April. Further details of both rides will be posted on our Calendar shortly.
It would be great to see you on either or both of these easy paced rides.
However, to keep up the momentum going forward we do need more volunteers to plan and lead rides.
Leading a ride means you get to go to your favourite cafe stop(s) and you can format the ride any way you wish. It could be meeting at a start point or, with people coming from various directions, you may prefer to suggest all meeting up at a mid morning cafe point. The route you propose doesn’t have to return to the starting point or maybe it could be car assisted. New ideas and routes / destinations are always very welcome.
If you only lead one or two rides a year it would be great and make a real difference. Leading a ride is really easy as someone will always act as a back marker to ensure people don’t get lost (it’s a good idea to provide a GPX route if possible to aid the back marker).
If you wish to lead a ride please contact us. You only need to provide the date you are volunteering to lead a ride as starting point and other details can be added to the Calendar nearer the time What we would like to achieve is names against dates for the next two months on a rolling basis.
Hope to see some of you on rides in the future either participating or dare I say it, leading.
