This is the time of year when daylight hours are lengthening at their fastest rate; about 30 minutes per week I believe. Spring is here and perhaps it will stop raining soon!

We usually meet on the second Wednesday of the month at the Kings Head, just off the top of Market Square in Aylesbury from 7:30 pm in the Hop Pocket room. It is a good opportunity to meet people for a chat, without the constraints of a ride. The 13th March and the 10th April are the next ones coming up.
Despite the picture, a full range of non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks is available too and there may be mulled wine.

The Easy Pace and Newcomers' Rides seem to go ahead whatever the weather and last weekend we had our first unicycle on a ride!
Jan Janecki reports on the Newcomers' Ride last Sunday:
"Ben did well on his one wheel. No gears and stopping isn't a favourite activity. Impressive looking disc brake (after it is bled), so I guess emergency stops must take some time to master, thankfully not needed today. No downpour, just a little drizzle, so a perfectly passable ride. Stopped to speak with the ducks at Haddenham."
With no mudguard on a unicycle, I imagine you could get very wet in the nether regions!
The total of 15 between the Newcomers's and Easy Pace on a soggy day with a good mix of male and female riders is impressive!

On Saturday 6th April and Sunday 7th April a Model T Ford rally will be leaving from The Bell Hotel, Winslow at 10:00 so if you arrive at 09:30 you can have a look at them before they set off.
They are impressive vehicles and it is interesting to see the technical advances (like front wheel brakes!) over the years. Well worth riding over to Winslow if you can make an early start.
