This year’s AGM will be on Tuesday 16th April at 19:30 at the Queens Park Arts Centre, Queens Park, Aylesbury, HP21 7RT, where the bar will be open before the meeting for you to buy a drink. The meeting itself will be in the Needlework Room.
I hope that as many of you as possible will come to the AGM, support the committee, and give your feedback about the running of the club.
Have you ever thought “Why doesn’t the committee do this or that?” or “The club would be much better if ”. If so, you could volunteer to join the committee and make your ideas happen. If you would like to talk about what is involved, please contact me for a chat.
We need to elect a new secretary as Ben Parry is moving on. Many thanks to Ben for his years of support and best wishes for the future. Penny Dablin has offered to take on the role of secretary, for which I am grateful. Nick is willing to continue as Treasurer and Roger as Rides Secretary. I have probably been Chairman for too long, and will have less time and energy this year with the arrival of new granddaughters, so a volunteer to take over would be welcome, but I am willing to continue for now if necessary.
Cycling UK would like us to have a Safeguarding Officer, so if anyone has any professional experience and could help us, please contact me.
We also need Ride Coordinators for the different pace groups, to encourage people to lead and support those who volunteer. The Easy Pace group is booming thanks to the efforts of Jeremy and his team and it can be very enjoyable and satisfying encouraging new riders.
