Alice Holt Cycling For All

Alice Holt Cycling For All

Welcome to Cycling for All at Alice Holt, where inclusive cycling is offered in a forested area. The centre caters for adults and children with a range of abilities or other challenges, and they have a good selection of adapted bikes. For detailed information on adapted cycles, please see the CTC guide.

About the centre

Alice Holt Cycling for All is a Cycling UK affiliated centre. It is located a few miles south of Farnham and approximately 1 mile south of Birdworld. The forest is part of the larger South Downs National Park and is a great place for individuals and families to have lots of fun and enjoy a wide selection of recreational activities.

The forest is managed by the Forestry Commission throughout England, also known as the Public Forest Estate. They prioritise services for the public, as well as the wildlife and  woodland areas.

CTC enjoy a strategic partnership with the Forestry Commission. Their joint aims include increasing health and well-being, improving awareness of the advantages of engaging in physical activity in the natural environment and increasing cycle skills for all abilities.

Although bike hire at Alice Holt is available for other cycling groups, the Cycling for All group remains restricted to existing volunteers and committed groups rather than general usage.

Activities available at the centre
  • Sessions are volunteer led, with someone on hand at all times to help you choose a suitable bike for your needs.
  • The sessions are not timed, ride for a as long as you wish for just one price.
  • The centre has an adapted range to suit all abilities and these include tricycles, tandems, hand-powered trikes, a wheelchair transferable bike, a wheelchair carrier and a power assisted side-by-side tandem.
  • Some pathways at Alice Holt are naturally created from the forest ground, while some are on smooth tarmac. They are flat but varied, and whatever your ability there's a cycle path for everyone. The have long trails that offer a chance to explore the forest, but also a short, safe beginners track for those just starting out. The paths are graded at different levels, according to your ability or aim. Take a look at the Alice Holt map for guidance.
