The Inverclyde Bothy

Cycling UK continues to support the UK to cycle
This remains true during this difficult period with the ongoing threat of coronavirus Covid-19

The Inverclyde Bothy

A bothy is a Scottish place of shelter that's free for everyone to find and use; in this spirit, Cycling UK has opened a project called The Inverclyde Bothy. It is a welcoming central point for walkers and cyclists in Inverclyde, looking for inspiration, help and advice.

COVID-19 Update

Inverclyde Bothy cycling and walking sessions and events are CANCELLED or POSTPONED until further notice.

Cycling UK guidance is available here.

You can find more advice about avoiding Coronavirus on the NHS website

And more information about social distancing on the Scottish Government’s website.

We understand the importance of our health walks and cycling sessions, and know this is disappointing news. If you are not self-isolating, the current guidance is to encourage walking or cycling individually (not with others), keeping to the social distancing guidelines. See the FAQ here.

If you are social distancing or self-isolating at home, you could try some of the Strength & Balance exercises that our walkers have been practising. Paths for All have produced this helpful YouTube film to show you how to do the exercises safely at home.

Please continue to check our Facebook page, as we will update as things progress.

See our Facebook group for walking/cycling ideas, motivation & hints 'n' tips during this time of social distancing.

Best wishes from Team Bothy.
