Patricia Fort - Runner-up

Patricia Fort was shortlisted in the Outstanding Campaigning Individual category for Cycling UK's 2018 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Patricia was a convenor of GoBike, and has continued her campaigning for cycling infrastructure in Glasgow as Consultations Coordinator.

As Consultations Coordinator she organises tours of each of the Glasgow City Council wards, and at the time of writing 23 councillors have taken part on 11 tours of 11 wards. She provides a weekly digest to interested parties all about the numerous consultations and crucially promotes the ones to come.

Her work has meant that responses to consultations on city development concerning cycling infrastructure has become more targeted and clear, letting city planners know what exactly is wanted and needed. Her tireless work in this capacity has seen real change, as councillors are able to understand the real impact on the everyday cyclist of good and bad cycling infrastructure in their wards.

Cycling UK is pleased to recognise Patricia's commitment to seeing protected cycle infrastructure in her community.

Cycling UK's Volunteer of the Year Awards are given annually to recognise and celebrate all the incredible work volunteers do in encouraging others to start cycling and keep cycling.
