https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2538516421 The ride on Wednesday 12th June is a 54 mile round trip from Fisherrow harbour,Musselburgh, East Lothian. Our destination is Hopes reservoir. Please meet at Fisherrow Harbour at 9:50am for a prompt 10am start. The weather forecast is rather mixed at the moment so I hope it improves over the next few days. There are WCs at the start of the ride and we shall also have the option of a comfort stop at Haddington. Our route will start at Fisherrow harbour along the coast to Port Seton and then inland to Haddington. From there we ride to Garvald and then onto our picnic lunch stop at Hopes reservoir. If it is raining we could go on a little further and stop in Gifford or East Salton The morning ride from Haddington does include some hills! In the afternoon we ride back through East Salton, Pencaitland and Tranent, where we can stop for afternoon tea, before heading back to Musselburgh. The afternoon ride is mainly downhill. In accordance with good riding practice you should carry emergency contact details both on your person (card in wallet/purse, ICE on mobile) and in your bike bag. While experienced group members will always give assistance and advice to other riders ultimately you are responsible for yourself and making your own way home. An attendance sheet will be completed on the morning. The ride is primarily for Cycling UK members. However non-members are welcome to attend, but would be expected to join Cycling UK after 3 rides.
