Big Bike Revival in Scotland

The Big Bike Revival in Scotland runs all year round
Inspiring people to get back on their bikes and start cycling regularly is what the Big Bike Revival in Scotland is all about. We work with communities right across Scotland to reach thousands of people every year with free cycling events and activities.

Many people own a bicycle but don’t ride it much – maybe they’ve lost a bit of confidence or don’t know if their bike’s in rideable shape. Whatever the reason, the Big Bike Revival helps people rediscover the simple joys of riding a bike.

We work with grassroots community groups and local organisations, providing support, training and funding so that they can deliver cycling activities in their areas. By offering interventions like free bike repair and maintenance, cycle training and led rides, the project’s grassroots approach empowers communities in Scotland to get cycling for everyday trips.

We have seven locally-based development officers across Scotland, who provide hands-on support and guidance. Our reach is truly national – from Shetland to the Scottish Borders, the Big Bike Revival is making a difference in every local authority in Scotland.
