A short pootle? An off-road challenge? What are you doing for Bike Week?

With only eight weeks to go until one of the most exciting events in the cycling calendar, it’s time to register your Bike Week event.

Whether it’s a one mile pootle around a park or a challenging off-road route, we want to hear from you.

You might be riding with colleagues, setting up a breakfast ride to school, university or work, putting on a charity ride or arranging a guided tour of your village by bike.

Or instead of a ride, if you’re handy with a tool kit, you could provide friends or colleagues with some bike maintenance and safety tips, helping them to get pedalling.

Find out more about Bike Week

By registering your event on the Bike Week website – www.bikeweek.org.uk – you’ll benefit from access to a whole host of materials and downloads to help you maximise your promotions, plus your event could be covered with free public liability insurance provided by Cycling UK.

Bike Week encourages hundreds of thousands of people to get on their bikes, rethink how they make their every day journeys and ultimately inspires the public to switch to cycling.

Helen Cook, Cycling UK Head of Engagement

Helen Cook, Head of Engagement at Cycling UK, said: “Each year, we encourage people all over the UK to take part, with hundreds of events happening up and down the country. There will be lots of activities to take part in, and rides as long or as short as you like.

“Bike Week encourages hundreds of thousands of people to get on their bikes, rethink how they make their every day journeys and ultimately inspires the public to switch to cycling as the most convenient, fun and healthy way to get around.”
